Hi,

Is there a way to probe tension/compression force in a section from SW Simulation result, or do I have to create a bonded contact at the location of the section?

What is best way to find tension (internal force) at a section?

Best regards,

Hi,

Somewhere inside the part.

Set up a sectio-clipping stress plot, then use the probe.

You can also plot P1 and P3 stresses, which will show you tension and compression respectively.

Hi, Scheffers and KevinDeSmet:

Thanks for your feedback! Sorry I did not reply sooner. I figured out how to "probe" tension/compression force in a section. I think "probe" is not a proper term for what I need. I want to know total tension or compression (resultant force) at a section. I can achieve this with a split command to make a multiple bodies. Then I "probe" the section to get resultant forces.

Best regards,
