Hi.

I'm working on contact forces between a ship propeller and propeller-hub interface. The shear forces is taken up by a free link between the two faces. Axial through bolts.

Simplified draft:

Bolt holes in section A, link in section B.

I use a surface contact mesh between the contacting faces, rbe3 and beam elements as bolts. Fixed the rotation and on the link to eliminate rbm.

When i use sestatic 101 with iterative solver i don't get a result file, and a error message in the solution log file saying.

Any idea of finding more info on the error? Have no D:, so that's not a normal dir.

Fully fixed the lower surface also.

"Fixed the rotation on the link to eliminate rbm." and "saying:" to correct my self

Dear Sigtro,
Take a look to the *.F06 file and search for FATAL, there you will have the reason of the error. The PCG Iterative solver runs OK with surface-to-surface contact, you can try as well the DIRECT SPARSE Solver to see the behaviour, in any case the F06 will tell you the source of the error.
Best regards,
Blas.

Great.

Some of the beam elements was not connected to the spider elements, and therefore had rigid body motions.

Thanks a lot.
