Automated Code Checks

Also as Strand7 (another FEA software) is not a code checking tool (e.., like RSTAB,ETABS,...), and more a general FEA package like ANSYS, one would normally take beam forces/moments from the FE model, and do the checks on the most critical areas via hand calcs/or by using a spreadsheet, that is what many users do from my experience.

Also I would not trust 100% a code checking tool, unless I can validate it with hand calcs - so like everything with FEA results need to be checked, hence why I use my own spreadsheet/hand calcs,

Finally in the documentation it says that FATJACK and BEAMST needs to have ASAS installed - I suppose perhaps that this is a separate licence (think it was an analysis system from Atkins bought by ANSYS)?
Also perhaps ASAS has been built into mech. enterprise - I would ask ANSYS for more details, because it would be strange if it is not available anymore.

I can confirm that asas is faced out and that one needs say femds, or civilfem, or sdc verifier (not sure if that one checks beams, know it does buckling on plates) to do automated steel code checks.
