1. At the time of turbine trip why extraction valve closed immediately? if it is open what happen
2.At the time of turbine warm up(steam taken from extraction side to HP casing ) why balance line in turbine should be closed?
3.why lube oil pressure should be 2.5 bara while it return pressure is 1 bara?
4.if chest pressure(in b/w GV and TTV) goes higher what can be cause of it?

Do not think twice

Do not post twice

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

1. After a turbine trip overspeed of turbine to be prevented. The steam in extraction lines can overspeed the rotor when it backflows to condenser through turbine. So extraction valves are closed very fast after a turbine trip.
2. Different turbine makers have different designs. It is not clear which balance lines you are talking about.
3. The lube oil pressure is determined by requirement of ensuring proper oil film thickness as well as proper oil flow for bearing cooling. Tribological calculations are required to calculate the bearing oil pressure. Regarding outlet pressure it is atmospheric to ensure gravity drainage.
4. The chest pressure is indication of turbine flow. It goes up with load.

My favorite song by the Greatest .... Bob Dylan

Well it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
Ifin' you don't know by now
An' it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
It'll never do some how
When your rooster crows at the break a dawn
Look out your window and I'll be gone
You're the reason I'm trav'lin' on
Don't think twice, it's all right

And it ain't no use in a-turnin' on your light, babe
The light I never knowed
An' it ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
I'm on the dark side of the road
But I wish there was somethin' you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
We never did too much talkin' anyway
But don't think twice, it's all right
