we are suffering our existing tachometers reliability which are equipped at general purpose steam turbines, these analog tachometers fail within two weeks, we established communication with the OEM and they recommended to upgrade to electronic tachometer which is required a major change to be implemented, turbine original manufacturer is (KKK) currently under Howden.
did anybody face the same issue with tachometers? and what could be the resolution to avoid this premature failure?

Most of our general purpose turbines use hydraulic governors, specifically Woodward TG governors. We add on digital tachometers that are self powered and read off of a toothed wheel that is added to the drive coupling for the Woodward governor. This is the kit we use. We have probably installed a few dozen of these kits and they are working very well for us. The tachometer used in the kit is a Dynalco Controls model SPD-106.

We have these tachometers all over the plant and I don't recall ever having a problem with one of them.
