A national highway is constructed near my house with a distance 25-30m from my house. The contractor use 18tone pad roller with vibration for subgrade(soil) compaction. We feel intense vibration in our rooms especially window and doors are vibrating. What should i do in this condition.I am worried about my house building cracking. Is there any chance of damage to my house building..my house is made of stone foundation and Reinforcment beam, walls are made frim bricks and RCC roof??

Damage is not likely. Yes, you feel the vibration, but little likelihood of damage.

Geokhan - Ron knows.

The roller is designed to make soil vibrate (hence it's name). But causing damage to a nearby house takes energy; the energy delivered to the soil by a vibratory roller is trivial compared to, say, a pile driving hammer which can cause damage.

Ron and SRE know their onions, however, If you are feeling "intense" vibration then I would be concerned. If you have any existing cracks then I would document them and monitor carefully when work is ongoing.

if the drywall cracks at all its joints you may want to investigate further, still unlikely structural damage.
