Good Morning fellow engineers,

I am looking for U bolts for hoisting application. The idea is to attach a U bolt on the bottom flange of existing W beam and attach a chain block with that. I am having a hard time finding the suppliers. Is there any supplier who has U bolt with the rated load specs (just like the Eye bolts)?

Thank You
Kaffy

Loading on the beam and structure should be checked/considered. Here is a little different option specific for hoists Link.

Wasn't there a discussion here (relatively) recently about bolting a WT to the bottom of a WF for something similar to this? Thought it had some good discussion but I couldn't find it...

U-bolts just aren't meant for that application.
Try searching for lifting lug, anchor point, D-ring anchor, etc.
I do see this item, but haven't used it or researched it:
Check closely, there's a lot of "lifting stuff" that if you read the fine print, says "not for lifting", etc.
If it's for fall-protection, that's another category altogether.
