Wasn't there a discussion here (relatively) recently about bolting a WT to the bottom of a WF for something similar to this? Thought it had some good discussion but I couldn't find it...

U-bolts just aren't meant for that application.
Try searching for lifting lug, anchor point, D-ring anchor, etc.
I do see this item, but haven't used it or researched it:

Check closely, there's a lot of "lifting stuff" that if you read the fine print, says "not for lifting", etc.
If it's for fall-protection, that's another category altogether.

As others said, what you are lifting may very likely dictate referencing some code or another before making a choice.

I think putting a short sling or choker over the I-beam might be more justifiable, quicker and movable.
