I am looking at electroforming a family of parts from Iron the strength of Iron electroforms ranges from 50,000 PSI Tensile to 65,000 PSI Tensile.
This is basically pure iron with a fine grain structure (no significant amount of Carbon).
Adding Nickle is not too difficult (it has been done and there are instructions available).
I would like to increase the strength of the material , doubling it would open up a lot of possibilities for other uses , Would adding nickle and some form of thermal processing increase the strength ? How much Nickle ? What kind of thermal processing ?
