Hello Colleagues,

What methodology would one employ to determine the insitu density or CBR of layered fill about 2m deep once proctor tests have been conducted for the layers.

If the TRL DCP refuses early what other option can be utilised.

Can the LWD be used for depths to 2m or more?

Insights appreciated.

Thank you

Well, you could dig a test pit to the depth you want and then do the NDM at the bottom. If the material is amenable to being sampled in shelby tubes you could drill it and do that and get densities from the tubes.

I would think an LWD would be useless
