Hi All

i ran a nonlinear Sol for the composite structure. i don't understand why some of the stress-strain output vectors do not have "nonlinear" term intheir nomeclature. For example, why is there a "1004524..Lam ply10 YZ Shear stress" unlike "1004647.. Nonlinear Lam Ply10 XZ Shear stress". Even though my run was nonlinear i should see non linear output vectors right ?. Can someone answer why femap has this difference? thank you in advance

Are you running material or geometric non-linear? If geometric, the label probably does not mean anything.

Thanks for your response. I am running geometric non-Linear. Just out of curiosity if it doesn't mean anything then what is the reason behind it? because i came across something where i read that YZ stress in a composite is generally assumed linear. i couldnt quite get it

Sorry, no idea; I don’t have a FEMAP license now to check it.
Try running the model thru Sol 101 and see what the output vectors are labelled.

in linear i get with "non-Linear" removed like you see in the picture i have shared in the question
