Hello colleagues,

We are currently working on a project that involves determining the gradation of 24"-minus rockfill. We've been searching for standard procedures, such as those provided by ASTM, but unfortunately, we haven't found any suitable ones yet. If any of you are aware of any published procedures for this specific task, we would greatly appreciate your input. I know some people use WipFrag app for this, but I am not sure how accurate it is when it comes to rockfills with a lot of fines. We also found another description for fine rockfill gradation here, but we'd rather use a formal published procedure.

Thank you in advance

The closest I ever heard about was weighing individual rocks from a 10 ton load. The specified maximum individual rock weight was something like 700 lbs. Each rock was weighed and recorded, we then tabulated the quantities across weight ranges and reported to the client. I never knew what the project was.
