So I am using NX version 1953. I am in an industry where we are always attempting to develop accurate flat patterns.

I have two tools, in NX, that I am aware of to accomplish this task:
1. Analyze Formability - One Step
2. Flattening and Forming

I took a slightly complicated solid part and generated a flat pattern using both methods. They were not even close to being same flat pattern.

Note: The customer provided model is a mess! It is a cluster of patchworked surfaces.

Which application is generally the most accurate?

Can you show us what the part looks like?

I will not upload the model, because it is an USAF model that I probably should not share, but I did attach a snapshot.

NOTE: I DO NOT intend on flattening this particular part for manufacturing, I used it solely to compare the two flattening methods at my disposal to see the difference.

Check if the Project Curve will do what you need.
When you start the command verify the entire menu is expanded and look at all the options that are available.
