I'm attempting to use Annex D of EN 1990 to determine the design resistance of some threaded inserts welded into a steel plate, based on test data.
It all generally makes sense, however I'm not clear on what the value of the conversion factor, ηd, should be (see below)
The description from section 'D2 Symbols' gives a bit more info:
There is no guidance in the code on how to determine the value, and a web search has yielded nothing.
Does anyone have any insights or sources of guidance?
If it's of any relevance, the tests were stopped due to excessive deformation of the plate, no failure of the insert or weld occurred.
