Tips for calculating the strength of an embedded steel cantilever as below please. How can we get credit for the extra reinforcing located at the top of the slab and the bars through the base of the steel?

The following is excerpt from PCI showing the strain distribution for steel insert corbels .

Extra bar welded at the top to the steel section will be effective.

Use it up, wear it out;
Make it do, or do without.
