I wish to know the material used for Glass Moulds used in manufacture of cosmetic & perfumery glass bottles.

What is the welding carried out in the Moulds?

What is the Mould Cavity Finish in terms of Ra value required in order to obtain the best finish & quality of such bottles?

Regards,

Hi KINI,
Most glass mold materials are made out of Nickel material. Their hardness range as HR/C 26-30, 32-36, 36-40,and 40-44. There are some also cast out of colbalt base alloy/ stellite 12. Nickel uses on Glass Mould material is easy to work with and material blen real good together. My suggestion is to find out what's the hardness of the part you have (probably HR/C=36-40)so I can help you what to use. However, the material composition is not vary much.
We are producing many castings, material (Include Bi-metals part) for the Glass Mould Industry. Let me know if I can help you more.
