thread2-32362

I was looking for the above thread where I had made an inquiry into getting into aircraft maintenance. Holy cow, that was over 20 years ago!
20 years, three continents, 4 layoffs, and a whole lot of gray hair later, here I am at my 'dream job' finally: Doing structural repairs for aircraft.
Although those 20 odd years had me working on aircraft most of the time, it was mainly on interior modifications, so two years into this structural gig, I am still a baby.
So ask an 'innocent' question about bushings and edge distances on Google and where does it lead me? Right back to good ol' Eng-Tips to the Aircraft Engineering Threads![glasses]!!! The helpful seniors still at it, helping the beginners and the experienced alike[smile2]. Tons of resources as always -references, historical information, expert views etc.
I just wanted to say that I would like to sincerely thank Eng-Tips, the Aircraft Engineering Forum and all of you great people who contribute here for your great service, to the field of engineering and the engineering community worldwide. Thank you very much!
Now to get back to reading and lurking. Twenty years....that's a whole lot of rabbit holes to disappear into....
Cheers and best regards,
Asanga
