I would like to install solar panels on my roof but I’m afraid that they will overheat the below floor, do you think they will affect?

well, there are thousands of houses here in CA with solar panels on their roofs, and none have had such a problem.

To be fair, on the hobbies forum, one of our posters says the same thing.

Solar panels are black and do get hotter than e.g. roof tiles in the sun and restrict air flow.

There is some evidence that some extra heat is sent into the roof structure, but then depends on the insulation and what is behind the roof. If this is an attic room then maybe it could have an impact.

A normal loft space, no.

we have black asphalt roofing tiles ... yeah, they get hot, but don't worry the roof sheeting underneath ... in much more direct contact that your solar panels (which are clear of the roof).

that said, still nothing to stop insurance companies saying "we won't insure you ..."

Solar panels are air-gapped from the roof, so the secondary thermal transfer will be a lot less than direct solar absorption, particularly if the roofing is a dark color. Since the solar panel temperature is typically below 200 degF, its thermal loading on the roofing should much lower than that of direct sunlight.

The thermal issue isn't necessarily the sheathing, it's the tar paper or equivalent that needs protection; traditional tar paper can desiccate and stop providing moisture protection.

A lot depends on the colour of the existing roof. And the insulation under the roof panels.
