Greetings Fellows!

Does increasing or decreasing clearance volume of PD affect the load on shaft?
Also what are the parameters (in terms of pump discharge pressure, motor amperes, discharge flow rate, e.t.c.) to check if clearance is changed.
I am facing a persistent issue of big-end bearing failure of a PD pump. It is suspected that this clearance might increase the load on crank shaft causing the failure of bearing.

Your expert opinion is required.

Best Regards.

If you're talking about volume of carried over (not squeezed out) fluid, then the answer is no. If it increases your pressure, then it will increase your load proportionally. If it lowers the pump internal friction, then it will lower the load.
