Wafer Check Valves K-Value Match in Crane TP-410

I am trying to model the loss coefficient (Cv or K value) through a non-slam wafer check valve (as it's specified in my job). I see that there are a few different types of check valves that Crane's TP-410 paper provides loss coefficients for the following valves. I used a 8" size for the fittings. Some of the fittings appear to use a RSeater Diameter modifier. However, I'm not sure what the RSeat Diameter is.

[ul]
[li]Foot - Hinged Disc; K = 1.055[/li]
[li]Foot - Vertical Disc; K = 5.91[/li]
[li]Lift Check - Angled; K = 0.7739; Modified by RSeat Diameter[/li]
[li]Lift Check - Vertical; K = 8.443; Modified by RSeat Diameter[/li]
[li]Stop Check - 90°Removed Plug; K = 0.7739; Modified by RSeat Diameter[/li]
[li]Stop Check - 90°Cage 45°Seat; K = 4.925; Modified by RSeat Diameter[/li]
[li]Stop Check - 90°Cage Vertical Seat; K = 2.814; Modified by RSeat Diameter[/li]
[li]Stop Check - Angled; K = 2.814; Modified by RSeat Diameter[/li]
[li]Stop Check - Globe; K = 5.629; Modified by RSeat Diameter[/li]
[li]Stop Check - Inline; K = 0.7739; Modified by RSeat Diameter[/li]
[li]Stop Check - Y, Cage Guided; K = 4.222; Modified by RSeat Diameter[/li]
[li]Stop Check - Y, Removed Plug; K = 0.7739; Modified by RSeat Diameter[/li]
[li]Swing Check - Angled; K = 1.407[/li]
[li]Swing Check - Vertical; K = 0.7036[/li]
[li]Tilting Disc - Alpha = 15°; K = 1.689[/li]
[li]Tilting Disc - Alpha = 5°; K = 0.5629[/li]
[/ul]

Given the preceding list and corresponding table of K- values, what check valve type do y'all think a wafer check valve (slam or non-slam, and dual or single) would most closely correspond to?

No info from the manufacturer's non slam dual plate wafer check valve technical brochures ? Operating K for the valve will also depend on actual flow and spring type as wafer check valve leaves may be only partially open at low flow. Better to get the K value curve specific to the model of valve you have.

Hi,
Ring the manufacturer or drop them an email. The only way to get reliable data. Probably a google search will help.
As least you should provide the reference of the check valve for us to support together with info about the fluid and flowrate.
We are not wizard, difficult to read your mind.

Good luck
Pierre
