I am quite new to this field and have been asked to design a DN200 PN16 lug butterfly valve. The whole valve body will be manufactured from a single casting mold, so it would be an integral flange type, regarding to EN1092.
My question is regarding the flange thickness. I know that the face-to-face distance must comply with EN558. Additionally, metric and number of bolts are presented in EN1092 for integral flanges. For a normal valve with two integral flanges, as ball or gate type, I would consider the thickness in EN1092. However, my question regards specifically to butterfly valves, as I'm not sure if the flange is considered as only one integral or two. Should i consider the en1092 thicknes? Just one or two times?
I attach a photo with a sketch of the distance i'm looking for.
Thanks in advance!!
