Depends on the baseplate / boltdown location - are the mounting pads machined and level etc, a poorly designed base might require some shim to ensure the pump case is not stressed or twisted.

Normal issue is that the pump is fixed in place by the piping connections so you don't want to start stressing that bit out to fix the coupling misalignment.
