Dynamic implicit quasi-static analysis in ABAQUS

Hi,

I am running a simulation in ABAQUS of the helical buckling of concentric tubes. Initially, I was conducting a static analysis with automatic stabilization.

Due to the high nonlinearity, I opted for a quasi-static implicit dynamic analysis. Therefore, Abaqus requires defining the material density. How should I set this density value? Should I simulate benchmark examples by varying the density value until I find an appropriate result?

Which energies should I check in quasi-static implicit analyses? Is mass scaling applicable to implicit analyses?

Thank you.

Well, this should just be the density taken from the physical properties of your material. Be careful with units - it's in tonne/mm^3 when using the SI(mm) system.

Possibly all the default ones but especially ALLAE and ALLKE compared with ALLIE.

Mass scaling is only used in explicit dynamics to increase the stable time increment.
