Hey Guys,
So if you have a small bumpout in a building, let's say 2 feet past the main exterior walls, does the section that's bumped out need to be supported by shearwalls on each side? Or do you just assume it's ok as a cantilever? It seems a bit excessive but not sure how that's normally justified. I've attached a sketch to show the situation.
