Hi everyone, I would like to have Terminal Operations experts advice for the guideline, criteria or practices that determine the frequency of storage tanks dewatering for maintaining product quality and avoid corrosion. It is rule of thumb to dewater the storage tanks after receiving and the required settlement time, however there is a debate for the next dewatering e.g. is it every day, 2 days, 3 days...? The terminal receives Diesel, Motor Gasoline and Aviation fuel through pipelines from 500 KM refinery. The storage tanks receive every 3-7 days depending on consumption and seasonal demand. The area is relatively dry and there is no major variation in ambient temperature day and night.

Your advice is highly appreciated.
