Polymer/resin for stiffening fabric

Thxs in advance. I am looking for a coating ( and process ) that will both stiffen polyester garment fabric and make it springy (recover after distortion). It needs to light but durable. I could use a plastic liner and bond it to the fabric but don't know which material would be best ( any suggestion on this will be welcome also)
