Is there anyone out there who has been able to copy an exploded view, I need to have the same base exploded view with different parts attached to it, it would be great if I could copy the one I already have rather than have to create it again. I know I can always just suppress what I don't want, but that really won't do the trick. I think my only other option is to save as and have different files for each assembly. Please tell me there is a better way.

Thanks

Kim

I hope I undestand your question correctly?

Why don't you save your file as a "Save Copy as" that way you have 2 files the same. Then you can simply change the references of the old parts in file 2 to the new parts that you want in file 2.

or,

You can insert all the parts into file 1, mate them, exploded them, and "Save Copy as" file 2. Then you can open each file and delete the files that you don't want in each.

or,

Using my second choice, write configurations and hide the ones you don't want. This can be done using a Design table which is probably a lot easier. This option is much better than the rest.

Hope this helps, Scott Baugh, CSWP :)
