I am looking for inherently static dissipative, clear (transparent, not translucent) plastic sheeting with physical and chemical characteristics similar to polycarbonate or acrylic sheet. Coatings are not allowed. I need thin material (1-2mm thick) in sheets about letter size or 250mm square.

If sheet not readily available, I would consider moulding my own panels from granular stock if the plastic has the right static dissipation characteristics. any advice would be most welcome.

Antistatic comes in various qualities, from a conductive substabce being added that will migrate to the surface and give enough protection to prevent shocks to users, through to carbon or stainless fibre filled materials.

I think that Basel now offer a polymer that is inherently conductive without any additives.

My advice would be to investigate the Basel products to see if they are transparent, as I have no info on them.

Also stainless steel fibre filled PC might be quite clear as there is only 2% fibre needed to get underground mineing quality antistatic properties.

DSM is the only supplier I know who compounds SS fibre filled PC.

If an additive such as an amine will do, Clariant probably have something.

Any sort of particulate such as SS fibers or carbon additives will not give a clear material I have worked with Permastat products form RTP company. They are all polymeric. They have several grades and degrees of clarity available in sheet or pellet form.

Good Luck
