We have been using Inconel 600 and 625 in our NACE MR0175 compliant products for many years. In the 1997 version of the spec the relevant sections were 4.1.4.1 and 4.1.5.1. However, upon reviewing the recent 2003 version, section 4.11.1 precludes the use of Inconel 600 because the Mo content is 0. Inconel 625 meets the spec since it has over 2.5% Mo. Am I missing something? Does the spec now exclude Inconel 600?

Thanks for your help.

Note the following changes:

a) MR0103 MR0103-2003 Materials Resistant to Sulfide
Stress Cracking in Corrosive Petroleum Refining
Environments

b) NACE MR0175/ISO 15156, Petroleum and natural gas
industries—Materials for use in H2S-containing
environments in oil and gas production

I would suggest you take a look at NACE-MR0103

Cheers

So what is the answer to Jasgeer's question? Has Inconel 600 been removed from the list of acceptable materials for NACE MR 01 75 service? If so, are all the Inconel 600 parts currently in NACE MR 01 75 service no longer acceptable!!!
