Does anyone know if solid PUR panels are resistant to oil/fuel, and/or heat so they can be used as a, for example, bulkhead or passenger compartment floor?

The material seems to have a good stiffness/weight ratio. is bonding to metal possible?

I'm not a material expert, maybe someone here has experience with this type of material.

Thanks in advance
Giel

All,

PUR is a typical plastics abbreviation for Polyurethene. See Plastics Abbreviations and Acronyms at MatWeb for more information.

PUR as an abbreviation for polyurethane (I never have seen polyurethene used before, MatWeb notwithstanding) is not nearly enough information. Polyurethane can be elastomeric, thermoplastic, and thermosetting, and the available properties ranges are HUGE.

I don't know that you would necessarily want a material having a good stiffness to weight ratio for floor or firewall of a passenger car application, for NVH reasons.
