Sorry to bother again.
I created a new part which is the cohesive layer. I constrained (tie) it the other 2 parts. However, Abaqus isn't able to solve the first increment (two severe discontinuity iterations in each cutback). Any idea what could be wrong?
Yeah I understand that.
I might have not made myself clear. I wanted to know if it possible to create a contact interaction between an exterior face of a part and an interior surface (created by a partition) of another part
Hi.
I have 2 components connected with a cohesive layer in between. The cohesive layer is modelled in one of the parts, using of a cell partition. The cohesive layer has a tie constraint with the other part.
I want to had a contact interaction between the two components, to prevent penetration...
Thanks for the answer.
just to clarify, in Abaqus Standard the no-penetration between the adjacent components needs to be modelled (for instance with a normal hard contact interaction)?
Hey.
I have two components connected by a cohesive layer (using cohesive elements). The cohesive layer is then fully degraded. I haven't changed anything regarding element deletion or contact between the two components. Is there any chance there can be penetration between the two components...
Hey.
I modelled a contact cohesive interation between two components with a normal behaviour as well. When the damage reaches 1, is there penetration between the two components? As I didn't contrain them, I'm not sure if without the cohesive they penetrate each other.
Thanks for the help
I haven't adjusted any coordinates, but I believe they are in the same plane already. I do obtain values for the stresses, but they don't very accurate. Also, Abaqus doesn't return SDEG outputs.
Hey.
I am studying a huge structure in which I use multiple cohesive elements "surfaces" to simulate glue. I created the by partitioning parts and then tied them to the second part they were attached to.
When I see the results of the job, the cohesive elements don't deform (no displacement) -...
Hey.
I am running a simulation and I get multiple "Slave surface is a node-based surface used with surface to surface approach. In order to obtain improved stress accuracy with this approach, an element-based surface should be used instead."
When I created the constraint I selected surface both...
