    Hello every one ...sorry for interrupting you ... I am facing a problem , when I am modelling a steel cantilever beam using shell element then it gives correct natural frequency.. but when i model it using rectangular beam element then it doesnt give correct result???? Please help me out...

    i am getting correct result when i used shell element... but results were coming different when i used frame section rectangular of same cross section and of same material.... why is this so???????

    A cantilever beam length 2m,cross section 60mmX40mm , material density 2800kg/m3. E= 78GPa. when im calculating analytically its free vibration due to its own weight , I am getting 8.52 Hz . But In SAP 2000 is giving me 594.18 Hz.... where is my mistake????????? please help me...

    Problem On SAP 2000

    A cantilever beam is 2m long anad has a cross section 60mmX40mm. material property - density 2800kg/m3.E= 78GPa . i am getting its free vibration due to its own weight by analytically 8.52 Hz. But i am not getting this answers in Sap 2000. I am getting 594 hz .. please help me.
