@loki3000
When I first started with NX, I was trying to dimension the centerline of a revolve feature for diameter, like in SolidWorks. Then I found out that you can't actual do that in NX, which baffled me because it is such a convenient feature. But I adapted by simply dividing the diameter...
When I put the templates into actual use, the cells in title block in very first Sheet has sytanx like <WRef1*0@attributename>.
In all the subsequent Sheets that I inserted, if I DOUBLE-CLICK the cells in title block, the small pop-up shown has syntax like <WID30*0@attributename>. But if I...
Yes, that is what I am trying to do; automatically populating the title blocks.
I use Master Model method. I put all the information (part material, part name, part number, etc) in attributes in the Model file.
When I create a Drawing from the Model, I would like the title blocks to...
Hi Iklo,
Thank you for the information. I am using Object Attribute. I tried using Part Attribute and everything does update accordingly across different sheets. But I need to use Object Attribute because I need to grab attribute from the model file.
I don't have the drawing and sheet...
Thank you for reply, Tomas.
The reason I am doing this convoluted way is that I want to provide a central location for all the cells in title blocks to get model attributes from. Because in the current template that I am using, the cells in title blocks in drawing grab attributes from the...
I am on NX10 MR2. I got a question on "synchronizing" attributes between two files.
I am using the Master Model approach. I created a part template and a drafting/drawing template. I created several attributes in the part template and also created same attributes in drawing template.
Then...
Oh!!! A topic on mouse.
I used to use mouse back in high school but saw a friend of mine using Logitech TrackMan Marble FX Trackball to play Duke Nukem with amazing strafing moves, I make the jump to trackball and have never looked back.
I have gone through several Logitech trackball models...
No offense...I almost thought you were making a joke.
Solidworks cannot compare to NX...Solid Edge is a better comparison but not NX.
I haven't used SW since 2009 or 2010 and SW is on life support. DASSULT really messed it up.
NX is a bit harder to get used to if you come from SW (like me)...
I don't think you should apologize for your "stupidity".
I appreciate you posting your problem and also the solution for it. Although I did not encounter your problem, I did learn something and checked off "Extracted Edges" a moment ago.
Thank you, sir, for taking the time to write up your...
I am currently running NX9.
I remember in NX8.5, the Assembly Clearance command has "Ignore Mated Pairs", "Soft Interference" and "Hard Interference" options. But I just can't seem to find those options in NX9.
Are those option moved? Or, replaced with other options?
Can someone shed light...
@cowski,
Thank you for your reply. No, we don't use a layering standard when doing 3D models. I think the main reason is because our components are simple.
But I would like to know more about this layering standard. From what you described, I noticed the words "reference sets" and...
@John
Thank you for your insight into the future direction of NX. I guess the move to Master Model approach is inevitable, even lower-end CAD package are using it.
Is there like a standard or a guide on managing files using Master Model Approach?
The biggest issue that I face is probably...
I use Master Model approach to assemble components. We almost never make drawings for assemblies, except for exploded parts drawings.
So, I take it that in this case, it's not particular advantageous or disadvantageous to use Master Model approach?
I am still debating. I have a tendency to...
