Do American trucks have a requirement for the height to be measured and set on a plate in the cab?
Mind you, doesn't tend to stop bridge strikes over here either.
There is an electric motor to extend the flaps but apparently it takes forever.
I guess this is the downside of flying around something certified to standards from 60 years ago, even with the flaps extended , it's an abrupt drop off compared to something that is a bit more modern with slides...
Doesn't seem like there is any engineering failure here, more like dangerous practices that wouldn't be acceptable anywhere else in the world being an accepted norm in the US.
