    Inserts in Thick CFRP Panels

Perhaps just too quick since links mostly refers to keenserts (for which we have all the informations needed), while the question was for metric potted inserts. In any case thanks for the answer.

    Inserts in Thick CFRP Panels

Hi and happy new year, for a structural test campaign on a "thick" ( > 12 mm ) CFRP panel we are going to compare mechanical behaviour ( pull / push / shear / bending) on different types of inserts (keensert, kobserts and classic potted insert). "Classic" potted inserts are the ones normally...

    Spring Elements (CELASi) in NASTRAN

..from the Quick Reference Guide CELAS1, Defines a scalar spring element CELAS2, Defines a scalar spring element without reference to a property entry CELAS3, Defines a scalar spring element that connects only to scalar points CELAS4, Defines a scalar spring element that is connected only to...

    API View Selection

Hi all, I'd like to write an API script in order to automate the generation of renderings on a part/assembly of solidworks. The flow should be someting like this: - open file - generate all the view necessary - run the script The script should take all the views previously generated in the...

    Element deactivation

You have to create groups with the portions of the model (nodes, elements etc) needed, and in the "Analysis Set Manager", in the tab "NASTRAN Bulk Data Options" under "Portion of Model to Write" chose the group consequently.

Fillet on a specified edge, with no propagation on the nearer ones

Yes that's it. Thanks a lot jgKRI. I fear that it was the only possible way... thanks again

Fillet on a specified edge, with no propagation on the nearer ones

Hi all, which is the right way to create a filet (or a chamfer) on the blue highlighted edge only (with no propagation on the near edges)? The normal fillet command has the "tangent propagation" function on, but if I remove it the program return me an error. I attach the images. Thanks in...

    pressure external surface complex geometry

In the "Selector Mode" change from "Normal" to "Front", and then you should be able to select, with a rectangle, the external faces only

    Buckling of a thin-walled beam

    1) You have to plot the result and check the results from the shape of the deformation 2) I suppose your beam, in the model, is made by 20 elements. Right? The reason is due to the shape of beam, and the model used by the solutor (Tymoshenko) that is different from what the theory use...

Nastran SOL number option in .dat file

Hi all, is there a way, using FEMAP with NX NAstran solver, to write in the .dat file the SOL tag in number rather than in characters? SOL 103 instead of SOL SEMODES etc. Thanks crostolo

Way to suppress elements to for analysis?

Hi cmcbain, create a group with all the elements and a group without the beam elements and in the NASTRAN Bulk Data Options (when you set up the analysis) pick the right group in the menu "Portion of Model to Write"

    Shell to solid bolted connection

Hi acga, nodes of solid elements have "only" 3 d.o.f. rather nodes of shell elements have 5. You should connect the RBE2 with at least 2 solid elements, in order to transfer the bending moments of the plate elements.
