Hi everybody !
A quick question :
My supplier of salted water filters has put the galvanic anodes in the top part of the filters. The entrance of the filters is by the side approximatively at 4/5 of the height of the filters, so the anodes won't be in the water, except during the washing (the...

Hi !
Could I use this thread to ask a few questions (I did not find in API 620 / 650 hints or answers regarding these issues) :
- in designing my storage tank, are there some guidelines regarding the diameter / height ratio to observe ?
- do I need to leave some minimum space around the tank...
Thanks !
Unfortunately, my level won't be constant in the tank. But of course I could design a weir box and when my operator want to remove the oil phase, he will artifically raise the level in the tank.
So there would be no solution with a baffle if I reinforce it or else ? My constraint is...
Thank you fegenbush !
I'm not sure I can have an oil skimmer as my oil is very paraffinic and I would fear to have the skimmer stucked on its pole if my heat control (heat coil) does not work well / it is too high for the coil...
IFRs : what is a saw-tooth weir box ?
Thank you !
Hello everybody !
I am designing a new oily water tank, and I want to have a compartment with a baffle so that the oil at the surface can flow from the main compartment (the tank) to the oil compartment.
Are there any norm / constraint that I need to know ?
For example, I have uploaded some...
Hello everybody !
A quick question as I cannot figure it out by myself...
One of my piping classes is for water, it is a carbon steel 600 lbs rating with a CA of 1,27 mm.
Material is as API 5L grade B.
My Temp / pressure couples are as follows :
Pressure (bar) : 102 102 92.7
Temp (°C) ...
Thank you littleInch !
If the problem is only the pressure drops due to friction then I won't worry, I have only a few dozen meters between the tank and the pump...
:)
Actually I was not very accurate, the water is coming from a tank, and the LSLL is several meters high, so no problem with NPSH (and 80C is design temp, it will be around 40°C).
But just to understand, what is the risk with the velocity ?
