Hello I have two fixed roof tanks designed as per API 650 . One is 3.5 m diameter and 4.5 m height . Other one is 4.8 m diameter and 5 meter height . Are stiffening rings / wind girders required in our case .

As per API 650 , Nominal thickness of roof plate shall not be less than the greater of D/(4.8*SIN PH)*ROOT(B/2.2)+CA, D/(5.5*SIN PH)*ROOT(U/2.2)+CA , 5 mm My question if 5 mm is the greater shall we add the corrosion allowance ( CA ) so it will become 8 mm?

How I know if it is ok for my case ?

Is it acceptable to use Hot Rolled Steel Coils SA 36 for API 650 tank for shell,bottom and roof ?
