hi there
With CT and VT settings known, can relay settings be calculated from just line sequence impedances and source sequence impedances? if so how is this done? i know a software that is able to do this but im not sure how it does it.
please assist. thanks.
i can access the sequence impedances with the software i am using, i just needed to know if the sequence componenent could be combined in series as well.
If i came accross a T junction of a sectioned line, im assuming i should find the parallel equivalent impedance?
Its a massive detailed network dealing with transmission and distribution. Voltages range from 400kV to 11kV. Lengths of lines can be from a few meters to a few kms.
hi there.
i need to simplify/reduce a multiple sectioned line into a single equivalent line. How do i simplify/reduce these lines as to represent it as a single line with equivalent impedance? Also to bear in mind that i need 'eqivalent' zero and positive sequence impedances of this equivalent...
hi there.
how do i reduce a network as to eliminate all unwanted components(such as lines connected to other substations, transformers etc) and replace them with equivalent parameters so as to still include the effects of these unwanted components? how do i perform this network reduction...
thanks Davidbeach.
so would it be correct in saying that the substation closest to the fault location is the local substation?( depending on the reach of the relay),and the other substation then become the remote substation.
hi there
i am doing a fault analysis on a power system that consists of two substations interconnected by a line.
The purpose of this project is to determine the positive and zero sequence impedances of the line and the source for different types of faults. I am doing this so i can determine...
