How to calculate stopping force and stopping torque

also, hydtools, your equations assume that from t0 to t1, the motor would continue to accelerate indefinately? for example if t1 is infinity the motor speed would be infinity. We know that a hydraulic pump only supply a finite amount of volumetric flow, so the equations dont work unless you are...

How to calculate stopping force and stopping torque

in my opinion everyone is over complicating this. My thoughts... assume the delta P is the pressure at the return line, as The motor inlet pressure will be near zero very quickly as the supply has been shut down.... hence zero supply pressure. You need to know inertia of the system and...

How to calculate stopping force and stopping torque

@hydtools i am not sure where you are getting your equations from? what you are saying doesn't seem to make sense. By newtons second law there is no defined 'torque to stop' unless you define the time to stop and moment of inertial of the rotating object.

How to calculate stopping force and stopping torque

do you use a crossport relief valve, and if so what is it set to?

Hydraulic cylinder for 5 mtr vertical movement

you are asking someone to design the system? you need to involve someone with hydraulic experience to design this. You need to know the load you will be lifting and and what required speed. You need to design the system based on the power required and spec the motor, hydraulic pump, cylinders...

BOLT CLAMP FORCE / THREAD STRETCH

to break it down into most simple form, the friction force applied in the direction of rotation (and hence axial direction aswell using the coefficient of friction relation) at the threads is larger for a smaller diameter when applying the same tightening torque. Simple gearing... Torque =...

    Force Required to Open Door

Hello. Basically you would need to size your cylinder and pump so that the time it takes for cylinder to fully extend is 20 seconds. I image force required to push the door is not overly high as it is rotating about a vertical axis. P= F x v. So you can work out your motor power rewuired from...

Calculating number of rollers to use

You need to clarify and provide more details.

Drilling into Hardened Steel, what drill bit required?

But it's only a thin surface layer right(few microns)? So once through the first layer it would just be pushing through hardened steel?

Drilling into Hardened Steel, what drill bit required?

Hello guys, we have plate steel S235 JR (1.0038), with surface treatment TENIFER Q. Can we use a HSS cobalt drillbit for this or require something harder?

Wear of Hardened Roller on Track

is the load swinging by any chance? the tractor speeding up and slowing down, or the tractor turning left and right would cause different speeds on the load... this would cause the centripedal force on the load to change and lead to lateral movement... this could cause the roller to hit against...

    HYDRAULIC MAINTENANCE

hello, change of the hydraulic filter should be all you need to do... hydraulic systems are generally self cleaning internally due to the filter... change filter before it bypasses...

Torsional strength of shaft with keyway

The case is actually overtorsion, so no fatigue was present. I'm looking at calculating what torque was required to break the shaft, and didn't know whether the keyway would decrease the allowable torque slightly... This is more just for my interest, I'm not actually doing an official report or...

Torsional strength of shaft with keyway

Hello, Just wondering the best way to calculate a shafts shear strength in torsion when it has a keyway. Do you assume the diameter is at the root of the keyway? Include a stress concentration factor? Thanks!
