Do you consider "breakout" when designing infiltrators for roof runoff?

Do you place geomembrane liner along storm trenches similar to septic? Working on a project where reviewer is "recommending".

    Hydrocad Exfiltration Invert Elevation

Using hydrocad version 8 For a pond with a pervious bottom I have always clicked "allow exfiltration at all elevations" By default, hydrocad 8 sets the invert elevation to 0 It seems like newer versions of hydrocad have a different screen and when selecting "allow exfiltration at all...

4" Loamy Sand over 6'+- Sandy Clay Loam - What rate should you use for drawdown?

Existing soil is sandy clay loam, rawls rate 0.17 A grassed infiltration basin will be placed in the area, topped with and 4" loam and seed (assume loamy sand rawls rate 2.41) What rate do you use for drawdown? 0.17 or 2.41? I think the 0.17 but am being told otherwise

Does flow area reduce by 2/3 when sheet flow recollects to shallow concentrated flow?

I have been told that it is a rule of thumb that the sheet flow area is reduced to approximately 1/3 area when it becomes shallow concentrated flow, therefore to sheet flow velocity should be limited to 33% downstream erosive velocity. So if max allowable velocity of a thick grass is 6fps, I...

stormwater running over gravel road before getting conveyed? ok?

GRB, Not much. Off the top of my head, the road is 700 ft long. For the first 500 the water shouldn't cross the road at all. The road is pretty much perpendicular to the contours. Then between the 500 and 700 ft points, approx 20000 SF of grassed land is sloped at approx 3% towards the roadand...

stormwater running over gravel road before getting conveyed? ok?

The norm is to have a swale on both sides of the road and crown it. What about having the road slope to one side and eliminate one swale. The stormwater from adjacent land would travel over the road before it gets to the swale, not the best idea, but for a small road with "gentle" slope, a...

thanks psmart, so my first 2 drawings ( i know they are crude ) look like a good aproach to you?

model series of check dams with hydrocad

after doing some reading i think my first approach may be the right one? no need to add another tc for flow from one pond to the next? hydrocad calcs the time to fill up each pond in the routung calcs? no sure. thanks

model series of check dams with hydrocad

my question is should the tc be modeled like this? even tho it doesn;t show most hydrologically distand point I feel likt it is modeling the flow throught the swale? now sure. thanks [/URL]]

model series of check dams with hydrocad

Uploaded with ImageShack.us model a series of check dams as ponds is it ok to just connect each pond together (see hydrocad model below)? my question is the tc I am using comes from the north west corner and down to the dam when the pond flows through the swale. DO i need to separate these...
