Good morning,
I have a pipe carrying steam at 480°C and around 5 barg. The pipe is 1/2" alloy steel, while the maximum flowrate inside the pipe is 300 kg/h. Such line is uninsulated, and placed in an environment where there are defined ambient temperature and wind.
I would like to know if...
Dear Sr,
we are developing a boiler with reheater. The reheater header and nozzles (inside the casing)and the main pipe outside are in SA-335 P22. During start-up, when pressure is not yet built-up, the fluid may reach for little time (less than 5 minutes) a temperature of ~ 605°C (~ 1125°F)...
Good morning,
on ASME B31.1 Ed. 2016, A-335 P22 has the allowable stress shown in table until 1100°F.
Instead, on ASME BPVC II, D Ed. 2017, the material SA-335 P22 has the allowable stress shown in table until 1200°F.
What is the reason of this difference?
Thank you,
MM

Also, the certifications letters typically do not include any independent validation from a third party; mostly they are only self-certifications from the...
Hello everyone,
I have had a doubt for a while about this issue. Where I work now (we design and manufacture HRSG) we always get from the end user the environment classification according to the EN 12944. My colleagues use this classification for almost every part of the supply, including items...
