Hi, thank you for the reference. I can find the formula to calculate the Kcss and ncss, in the Para 2E.4.2.1.
Do you think we can use that formula for fatigue assessment according to ASME VIII D2?
Yes, I have that paper. But in that paper, they have selected Type 304 Annealed at 20degC for the value ncss and Kcss, to evaluate type 316 stainless steel.
Do you think I can follow the same method to evaluate type 316SS?
Dear Members,
I am working on fatigue assessment according to ASME Section VIII Division 2 5.5.4, for Stainless Steel Type 316.
During development of the material model, I realized that in Annex 3-D Table 3-D.2/2M does not provide the nCSS and KCSS for Type 316 material.
Does anyone have...
U-4(b) : A single system of units shall be used for all aspects of design except where otherwise permitted by this Division.

Dear Members,
I am designing a pressure vessel in accordance to ASME Section VIII Division 1. The unit system used in design is Metric system.
Shall we mention the metric system unit also for material in General Arrangement Drawing (Bill of Material).
For example, the material SA-516-70 shall...
TGS4,
Understood, Sir.
Are you planning to have a course near South East Asia?
Canada is far away from my location.
IdanPV,
Appreciate for sharing the reference.
IdanPV,
What software do you use?
What is the root cause of the error?
Is that because the very high load, and the stress or strain result is beyond the material model curve?
IdanPV,
Thank you for sharing the link.
I have read your topic before.
What would happen if the convergence is not achieved?
Does the analysis get error or what?
Dear Community,
I am working on the elastic plastic analysis of ASME Section VIII Division 2 Part 5.
The material is SA-285 Gr. C, the Design Pressure is 0.3MPa at Design Temperature 200degC.
I use the ANSYS 2024 R1 for the analysis.
The material model with true stress-strain curve has been...
LittleInch,
Yes, i have compared the B16.5 and EN 1759, but the EN not fully adopt the B16.5
For example, material A-182-F51 is not available in EN 1759, which is in ASME in the material group 2.8
Dear contributors,
Is it possible to use ASME B16.5 flange (pressure rating) to design pressure vessel by EN 13445?
Is there any specific requirement to be fulfilled?
