i want to get the system curve of a pipeline , i ask about the method,i calculate th loss for fixed flow rated and i use the formula : PDC = a * (Qv^2)to get the curve.
with
PDC is the losshead in the system
Qv is the volume flow rate
when can i use yhis formula ?
is there any other method ?
plazma,
i'm not asking about turbulence , thx
littleInch,
i want to evaluate the velocity of the flow in pump station, so i ask if there is limits for the velocity (to not damage the pipes for example ...), i hope you get my point
thx for all replies
I'm asking about the eligibles values of the velocity in water pipeline (drinking water) (discharge pipes and aspiration pipes). I need references of these information.
I'm modeling in pipeline using AFT impulse and i want to know the difference between support "anchored upstream" , "anchored throughtout" and "with expansion joints".
i have problem of water hammer in pump station, and i want to know how to size an air vessel (analytical approach)?
should i always also use a relief valve ?
(this is the first time i work on this subject)
Thx
i'm running a transient model of pump station, and i found that there is a vapor volume in some pipes, and i don't know how to evaluate this volume: I mean that how can i know that volume is high or it is negligeable ?! Or it shoudn't exist even ?
Thx
Thx Biginch,
i try it and it works, but there is something i don't understand it, the graph of pressure static function of time in pipe upstream and downstream the pumps gives an oscillation of max 30 bar and min 0.3 bar , and at one second the pressure rise to 180 bar and return to normal...
I'm rtryinng to run a transient model of shutting off pumps with "Trip with inertia and no back flow or reverse flow" , so i can't define this junction (pump) because of efficiency values that i have entered in curve data (This error is given by The software)
i didn't get the impact of...
Thx for yours replies ;
Hi BigInch
I want to learn how to do it
Hi LittleInch
i want to verify the diameter of pipes and the choice of pumps (cavitation and HMT ...).Infact, how can i know a station is correctly designed ?
I'm working on pump station which is already designed, But i'm want to just verify the design manually or using a software, have you any idea how shall i start?
