    Threaded Flange on 6" Pipe

How can these 2 different specs pipes be connected? They system is flanged, so if I install 168,3 mm flange with raised face and fasten it to 165,1 mm flange, wouldn't the cross section for flow be obstructed slightly, because of internal diameter difference? Would that be an issue?

    Threaded Flange on 6" Pipe

Okay, more of a story to it. The system is chilled water, 10/20°C, we don't expect much thermal cycling since the system will work continuously on pretty much same load. Victaulic client doesn't want it...welding little issue because of site. However, in your comments, I realized that pipe...

    Threaded Flange on 6" Pipe

Hi all, we have a project requirement for screwed flange on 6" piping. How usual is this solution and what problems can be expected? The pipe will be located 3 m above the ground. The current issue I foresee is that during the screwing of the flange, it would be hard to match the hole's...

    High hydraulic separator inlet velocities

I am calling it a buffer tank because it is a volumizer in the system. Based on the inlet/outlet locations (one across each other), there will be a certain level of stratification in the system. Why would you have diagonally located inlet/outlet? https://www.fiorini-industries.com/en/vkd/...

    High hydraulic separator inlet velocities

It does not have a plate. It has perforated pipes on top and bottom. Snip attached. As you mentioned, this buffer would behave as a big pipe.https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=65a88190-68d2-466c-b4a1-07c9bba1ebc7&file=Buffer.png

    High hydraulic separator inlet velocities

Hi, I agree on product data. I am sure this is not a separator as it is, but my idea is to use it as one. I believe the manufacturer didn't state in its product data such an application. However, dont see a reason why 4 pipe buffer tank needs baffles, maybe if it has 2 connections then it would...

    High hydraulic separator inlet velocities

Dont have a design manual but will try to get it. The manufacturer of the equipment is not listed. The thing is...this is not a typical design situation...we are installing this chilled water ramp only for a 3-day test and then we disassemble it...so we must work with rental equipment only...

    High hydraulic separator inlet velocities

Hi all, would need some advice on the low-loss header application. Currently, I am designing a chilled water test ramp with rented equipment. The chilled water system will be with the primary-secondary pumping arrangement. When the load comes online, I have sufficient liters of water as per the...

Rate of absolute humidity increase in space

Yes, there is ventilation provided which is planned to supply fresh unconditioned air from the outside, which the units should dehumidify, but, with it on, humidity increases even faster. The exhaust from the server room would transfer to another one, however, with the fan on, there is...

Rate of absolute humidity increase in space

Hi all, I could use some advice regarding the issue of increased humidity in the building. I am currently on a project that is being built with a dew point of the outside air of 23.2°C (x=18g/kg). The space is cooled by the perimeter CRAC units which also have to cool and dehumidify outside air...

    Draining of heat exhanger

I can totally agree with this one, however, such decisions are outside of my reach as my job is only to integrate this unit into the system. I see your intention here, will check out this possibility. Would the even better option be to have some sort of preheater on the exit of the bottle, and...

    Draining of heat exhanger

The current orientation is right, since the HE is an integral part of the cooling unit, and the unit is basically a cabinet, there is no possibility of the wrong installation, it is just how it is. There is no piping on the other side, and there is no drain for sure...also the lower part of the...

    Draining of heat exhanger

What vacuum technology/pump could be the best fit for such an operation? Should I be worried about freezing of water inside since it looses energy(temperature is going down)? There is no possibility to heat HE, maybe just have some hot air blower around and have temperature around HE at...

    Draining of heat exhanger

Could you point out what kind of technology I would look for? Compressed hot dry air? High-temperature nitrogen purge? Is it possible to remove such quantities of water by vacuum? I believe oil sealed vacuum pump wouldn't be any good since the oil would mix with water, and frequent changes of...

    Draining of heat exhanger

The unit is rated for 16 bar (tested with water). Unfortunately, I am not aware of the air pressure in the factory...I think compressed air is available, but not sure if could be used as such since the distances for compression stationary lines are far away from the assembly grounds. Could a...
