    Perpetually moist concrete slab

Thanks for the advice everyone. Seems like there is not a great or easy solution and the risk is greater than the reward.

    Perpetually moist concrete slab

I'll be back there at the beginning of the month. I can't think of a time I saw water coming out of cracks or even holes drill through it. When we cut a short lane to a side door on the building it was darn near a river flowing under the surface. Built a retaining wall out of bags a sacrete it...

    Perpetually moist concrete slab

We have a plant in Oklahoma City that was built in the 50's. There is a natural spring that runs underneath it. I think the issues we are having is a result of the slab perpetually having moisture in it. The first issue is we've attempted to have it epoxy painted multiple times both in house...

Rebar for 2 part trench pours with pillars

Maybe vertical Us tied to with one or two horizontal runs down the trench? 1' on center where roll up door is. Otherwise 2 possibly 3' on center? I don't think epoxy would be required for the 1/2" where it pins into the existing slab. Thoughts? Thank you

Rebar for 2 part trench pours with pillars

So today my concrete contractor bailed on a project. I was relying on him to do the rebar after he told me he'd done lots of grate trenches. He also said he was going to pour it in one shot. Seemed like the hard way to do it but I'm not the concrete guy. So now I'm in a lurch. I found someone...

Partially imbedded steel trench grate frame treatment. Rust inhibiting primer or nothing?

We are preparing to do a trench drain project. The frames are made of 2” steel angle with headed concrete anchors. My question is should I do some type of rust inhibiting prep to the outside of the angle where it will be in contact with the concrete? If I primed the surface, with the...

Seal compatability for sodium hydroxide, Hypochlorous acid

I am a big believer in trust but verify. Now I have two sources that agree while I wait on the pump supplier to get back to me, and now I am ready when they do. I can also cross it off my list and move on to the next thing.

Seal compatability for sodium hydroxide, Hypochlorous acid

Thanks for the confirmation and spell check. For whatever reason my brain hates that H.

Seal compatability for sodium hydroxide, Hypochlorous acid

Based on what I've found for two separate pumps and chemicals. EPDM is the preferred seal material for a stainless pump moving sodium hydroxide with PH between 10-12 Viton is the preferred seal material for a stainless pump moving hypochlorous acid with PH between 6-7 Can anyone confirm this...

Total Dynamic Suction Head Calculation for up, over, and down run

Ha. Made perfect sense as I was thinking and writing about it. Definitely more rambling rereading it. Let's start with a few picture. Pump data plate Basic drawing of plumbing Now for the background. This is a used cart wash (Think mini car wash.) It's one of those someone decided to buy...

parallel pumping of dissimilar pump with VFD

When you say condenser are you actually referring to the chiller's water-cooled condenser? I.E. You are pumping to a cooling tower. Otherwise you would be talking about what I would call cooled process water. I.E. going to radiators with blowers to cool a room. I'm sure there is fancy sounding...

Thank you it looks like it will be a handy reference.

Total Dynamic Suction Head Calculation for up, over, and down run

The pumps in the machine won't cut it. I'm considering feeding the spray pump with another pump. The alternative is mounting something a 25 gallon tank above the machine and topping it off as it's used. Would I be correct in thinking along these lines. The spray pump in it's original...

parallel pumping of dissimilar pump with VFD

They run all three pumps on each chiller at the same time? 9 pumps are currently running all the time? Your current design will end up running 5? Seems like each triplex skid would have a spare pump on it after the upgrade. We run triplex pump skids for just that reason. Close valves to pump...

    Water pump for fire hose

I did say check the specs.... Here's one that's closer. 100PSI @ 80 GPM with lift of 63". Doesn't list solids spec though. https://pumpbiz.com/lp-fire-pumps-portable-two-stage-7ak306-lp Curve http://www.darley.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/AK306-C577.pdf
