In my model, everything is the same in both cases—geometry, material properties, loads, and boundary conditions. The only difference is that in the first case, I did not partition the face, while in the second case, I did.

Due to the partition, the node numbers vary slightly, leading to a minor variation in spring stiffness values, but everything else remains unchanged. However, I am observing a significant difference in SF2, which varies by approximately 950 kN (as seen in the plots), while all other results remain consistent.

I am unsure why this is happening. Could you please guide me on this?

I would appreciate any help!

Thank you in advance.

Best regards

What springs ?

Hard to say without knowing the details about the model (BCs, loads, interactions and other analysis features).
This is a gravity-based wind turbine foundation where I have modeled the raft portion as a shell. Instead of modeling the soil directly, I represent it using springs and assign spring stiffness values to the nodes (connecting points to the ground using the 'standard' option).

In the interaction, springs are provided in the X, Y, and Z directions. Additionally, there is shell-to-solid coupling between the raft (modeled as a shell) and the pedestal (modeled as a solid). The analysis type is Static General, and the applied loads include concentrated loads, moments, gravity, and overburden pressure.

Thank you for your response.
I hope I have explained the model clearly, and I would appreciate your guidance on why this issue is occurring.

Regards,
Shub
