We bit the bullet and switched to Xaas 2 years ago, since they made it so expensive to stay on Maintenance. Our sister company is about to make that decision soon.
if you're off maintenance, what happens if you need to move your license? in the past I'd just leave the "old computer"...
it really is sad to say, but NX plotting never advanced. The 20yr old book still applies
https://support.industrysoftware.automation.siemens.com/docs/nx/nx3/plot/nx_plot_userguide.pdf
as a 25+ yr NX user, those are things I don't use, spreadsheets and such...
But I believe the terms you want to be searching for is Part Families and Product templates
Youtube and Vimeo have some decent videos.
If its a Vector PDF from a cad system, you can use Inkscape to make it into a DXF and then import that into NX
short of buying a converter program, that's the only way i know how to do it.
Do you have a Staged Model license? if so thats may work for you. Though I don't know if you can creat drawings from the "stages"
I watched a youtube vid on it, but when I tried it I found I lack the license.
This Journal exports all of the attributes from components into txt files from an assembly in Native NX. All of the txt files land in the folder of the top level asm file.
I did not write it and I'm not sure where I found it, its not signed.
Option Strict Off

Imports System.IO...
I have a similar machine made by a Local computer company that does a lot of DoD work. Same processor, ram and vid. water-cooled processor. the only noise comes from the A5000 and its about the size of a loaf of bread

Like SDETERS mentioned, I'd try Synchronous 1st.
Optimize face, but use the selection to pick the body Faces, Then offset the single face.
If the geometry is clean it should move and adapt the blend faces.
if not? untrim the flat face you want to move, offset it your distance and re-blend
There is a discussion on points to txt on the official board from few years ago

I've only had to make a safety fence like shown in your image once.
I did it old school though, before I knew what patterns were, if I recall correctly. I created planes for the outer boundary, made 1 line in X and 1 in Y where I wanted them, then trimmed them.
Then use Tube to create the...
oddly enough I just had surgery for Ulnar nerve entrapment and carpal tunnel syndrome on my Left hand... I'm 53. 24yrs on UG/NX
What's Odd is I'm right handed and a hunt and pecker on the keyboard and I don't use a spaceball/mouse, so I doubt mine was work related.
Thanks Levy, thats similar to what I had before. Though it was the Radius of the tool and what WOC I wanted and it gave the DOC to achieve it.
To make a visual on the model, you could use this formula to offset your surfaces and project your trim or letters to it. then create a solid of your...
Levy1989, does it work for DOC to the width of cut on freeform type surfaces for 5axis engraving? the one I used to have I could use say a 3mm ball to cut my max-min trim tolerance on check fixtures.
if so, can you share it?
You're too kind with your term for development... We're not a large enough account to get direct NX support anymore. We have to use our Reseller 1st. so it takes twice as long for them to just tell me it's working as designed... If we ever seriously entertain NXCAM, we would need a different...
interested as well.
We currently use WorkNC for CAM as we mainly do die/mold style of machining. but over the last few years development has stalled somewhat mainly due to being bought and sold a few times.
We have a seat of NX MILLFOUND with bundle, but only use it for design, NXCAM needs a...
