Trying To Make drafting Notes/Dimensions Visble For Part Inside An Assembly For A Presentation

Our company NX guru figured it out. Not sure if this is just company related, but the drafting objects need to be placed on layer 8 and the part reference needs to be set to criteria.

Trying To Make drafting Notes/Dimensions Visble For Part Inside An Assembly For A Presentation

Trying to make drafting related entities like dimensions and notes visible for a part in an assembly while navigating with the spaceball. Section curves show up fine, but nothing drafting related. Only way I was able to do it was exporting all the drafting objects as a part.

Quickest Way To Convert Solid Body From NX To An OBJ

Thank you both for the good news. I can nag me boss to be one of the guinea pigs to test the early release. Early release within the company that is.

Quickest Way To Convert Solid Body From NX To An OBJ

NX11. Holy crap, that's awesome. Unfortunately, we usually don't see the new version of NX until 2 to 3 years after the release.

Quickest Way To Convert Solid Body From NX To An OBJ

Hey guys - for the past couple of years, I've been tasked to create CGI Photo-realistic video renders using 3D models I find online using software that requires the file to be OBJ. But now I've been requested to start using NX content I create for my videos. It's possible, but...

Exporting complex assembly with each component as an STL

Hey guys. What would be the quickest way to export a big assembly with each component separate as an STL? Only way I can think of is using Wave Geometry Linker, removing parameters and export STL for each individual part. I believe exporting multiple parts causes them to become a single entity...

    Extracting Curves From Image File

Hey guys - got a co-worker saying there use to be a tool within NX that would let you import an image and extract usable curves for modelling. Does such a tool exist? Been using UG/NX since 1999 and don't think I've ever seen such a tool. Only way I've ever done this was to...

POSSIBLE TO HIDE MOTION OBJECTS WHILE RUNNING MOTION ANIMATION

Anyone know if it's possible to hide motion related objects while running a motion simulation. Trying to record video for a presentation and my boss thinks it's an eyesore.

Is It Possible To Maintain Transparency/Translucency Of A solid When Exporting It As A Parasolid

I know it's a long shot, but thought I'd ask anyway. Anyone know if it's possible to maintain translucency of a solid if you export it as a para-solid? Whenever I perform an export parasolid, transparency is lost and it becomes a fully shaded solid.

Best Way to Identify Voids and Missing Faces In a Poor Quality Solid Body (See Jpeg)

Hey guys, trying to find the most accurate way to locate and repair voids/missing faces in a solid body as a result of really poor model/CAD data. What you see below is a solid and not a sheet. I end up having to create sheet bodies to patch solid body.

Sheet Bodies Vanish When Moved To A Layer That's Visible/Selectable

Not a drawing and layer was not turned off using visible in view because there were other entities that were visible in this layer as you said. But I did have to reset to Global (see jpeg below). When I reset, it brought back not just sheet bodies, but a crap load of curves, points and saved...

Sheet Bodies Vanish When Moved To A Layer That's Visible/Selectable

OK, another problem that's driving me nuts. When I move a sheet body to a layer that is visible/selectable, it vanishes. Even when I try to unblank, it doesn't show up. Everything in the destination layer is visible except the one I just moved into that layer. The only way to make it visible...

Deleting A Current Feature Causes Everything Above To Fail

Like the title says, I've got a model and if I delete, suppress or even edit with rollback, the entire model fails. Operations above that have nothing to do with the current feature just fail. Anyone have this happen?

Sew In NX9 No Longer Shows Red Lines Where Gaps Exist

Hey all, is there a setting somewhere for the SEW operation that will show where there are gaps with red lines? Can't seem to get that to work anymore. Thanks

HELP PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!! with Draft/Taper NX9 - Gonna Put My Fist Through The Screen !!!!!!!!!!!!

That's from a crap load of tweaking to the edge and the face trying to get it to taper. Like delete edge and a bunch of synchronous modeling operations. That likely made the edge un-smooth. Forgot to remove them. But the original face and edge did not produce any of those vertical lines...

HELP PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!! with Draft/Taper NX9 - Gonna Put My Fist Through The Screen !!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG - I'm on the verge of putting my fist through the monitor. I'm trying to place a simple draft along the edge in red below. Draft direction is shown via the vector. Preview shows up fine as you can see. But when click apply, I get the fail message. Even using draft from surfaces, preview...

Step File Of Solid Becomes Thousands of Tiny Sheet Bodies When Imported Back In

OMG, getting ready to shove my fist through my monitor because of this. As the title says, the step file of a solid body I created transforms into a crap load of tiny sheet bodies when re-imported. I've done this procedure thousands of times and this is the first time I've had this happen...

Tricks To Obtain Radius Values When Analysis Tools Fail

Thanks for the reply. In most cases, it doesn't detect the face as a blend.

Tricks To Obtain Radius Values When Analysis Tools Fail

Curious if anyone else has any dirty tricks to obtain approx. radius values when NX analysis tools fail. I place 3 points using "points on curve" and then create an arc segment using the "Start, End, Point on Arc" option and then measure the radius of the arc.

Attention Formability Engineers - Looking For Opinions on Hyperform or Autoform (One Step)

Been using Autoform one step for bout 10 years now and wondering how well Hyperform stacks up to it in accuracy. I realize that one-step is a quick and dirty means of gauging formability, but which would be considered the lesser of 2 evils? My gut tells me it's Autoform one-step because it...
