    Pipeline Pressure Restfill

In this case it’s not a multi product pipeline. But my question was raised because operator is using a restfill pressure close to product maximum vapour pressure or even lower. They don’t take care of the pressure.

    Pipeline Pressure Restfill

So, how was that off-spec crap formed?

    Pipeline Pressure Restfill

Yes, shut in, we call it resfilling pressure. Concern is that pressure being low, leads to the creation of vapor pockets that will collapse creating erosion on the pipeline wall.

    Pipeline Pressure Restfill

Hi all. This is not my area and that's why I request your help. In a oil product pipeline what should be the restfill pressure? The restfill is done with the product that specific pipeline transports (ULP, ADO, HFO or JET). My concern is regarding some grade of corrosion prevention. If there...

    Instrument Air Piping Testing

The maximum operation pressure, given by the Design team, is 1000kPa.

    Instrument Air Piping Testing

The big issue that we are dealing is that the manufacturer is having leaks. They ddin't tell us yet the gravity, but it doesn't seam good. That's why I would like to know and asked about an acceptance criteria. They asked us if they could only do a service test... it seams they don't have leaks...

    Instrument Air Piping Testing

Yes, the Code is B31.3. That service test at normal operation pressure possibility is only for Category D fluid service right? Our Design Pressure is 1300kPa. I don't trust these construction guys to use water testing in these instrument lines.

    Instrument Air Piping Testing

Hi. We are building a new tank farm and we are having now some problems with our Instrument Air lines testing. They were designed to be threaded and pneumatic tested. The issue is that the construction company is having problems with the criteria of zero leaks during the test (1.1 the Design...

Thank you for all your answers. It's clear for me now.

Piping Systems testing. It's not the best practice, especially with ball and gate valves, but there is any standard that doesn't allow to pressure test against valves? ASME B31.3 345.3.4 seams to allow that. Can you please give me some points of view regarding this?

    Tank Identification

I'm only asking about Tag Numbers for Storage Tanks. Tanks are already done, all of them supervised by the "newbie". [dazed]

    Tank Identification

I would like to ask if there is any regulation/guideline, regarding the Identification of Storage Tanks (API 650). This in terms of size, style and format of lettering. Also regarding colour and location. Can I find this information/guideline or it's ALL Owner definition. Thanks.

    Figure 8 Blanks

We are in a C5-M corrosive environment and the design define just figure 8 blank. In normal production the blind face will corrode fast.

    Figure 8 Blanks

Could you please give some advice on Figure 8 Blanks CS protective coating. Is there any requirement. Contractor says it can't be painted and we don't agree with that.

    Pipeline Warning Tape

Yes, but the contractor is trying to use just a colored tape (black and yellow) and I wanted to check if there is anything required by a standard. API RP 1109 just mention warning tape as an optional and BS EN 12613 I don't have it.

    Pipeline Warning Tape

Can anyone please give me information about requirements for warning tapes for underground pipelines (oil products). Namely regarding lettering. Does it needs to have lettering or not.

    Pipeline Welding - Spatter

WPS specify 90-140A. They were using 120A more or less. The 4.0 rods are specified for 120-180A. It's very strange that they can't do the work with the approved WPS.

    Welder Qualification ASME IX

For the welding on site we didn't change anything. It´s everything according to the WPS. One of the welders that is doing the root pass was qualified with another WPS, that one with different size rod. But all the essential variables were the same.

    Pipeline Welding - Spatter

We are just starting. Those were the first welds.

    Welder Qualification ASME IX

Yes, I think they can. Just the rod thickness changed and that's not an essential variable. Thanks.
