Anti surge system for fixed speed compressors

Why do you bother yourself about starting and shut down? Anti surge valve shall be fully opened during both cases and hence your machine is protected ! It's a typical procedure for both fixed and variable speed drives.

    Reverse rotation on pumps

Actually we are still in FEED stage and studying the possibility of seal failure due to reverse rotation. Most of our selection is for plan 53B which I believe will have no issue as in all cases it is working on the clean barrier fluid, but for other seal plans like 11, 13 or 31. I need to get...

    Reverse rotation on pumps

If reverse rotation cannot be avoided (eg. NRV is passing), what would be the way to prevent Pumps mechanical seal damage? In DGS for compressors there is the by-directional seals. How about the pumps?

Dry Gas seal Buffer Gas low dew point

Thank you Guys for all of your replies. I can conclude that no one had ever seen a problem of over dry buffer gas. I assume it was only a concern of one of Nitrogen package supplier's clients, but it might never happened in real life. The most convincing experience is using cryogenic nitrogen as...

Dry Gas seal Buffer Gas low dew point

Hi there, Anyone faced a problem in over dryness of Nitrogen as a buffer gas for Dry gas seal? I have an application of Centrifugal compressors fitted with tandem dry gas seal with intermediate labyrinth, where the buffer gas used is Nitrogen with 95% purity. While the Nitrogen supplier warned...

CAVITATION: NPSHR AND MINIMUM SUBMERGENCE IN VS4 PUMP

To Pumpsonly; I just need to know how the condensate is at slightly below the boiling point and hence its vapour pressure is almost atmosphericthe while vessel is vented . In this case I assume that the condensate shall evaporate and then the vessel should not be vented to atmosphere.

CAVITATION: NPSHR AND MINIMUM SUBMERGENCE IN VS4 PUMP

I understand from the conditions you state that the condensate is stable at atmospheric pressure, if this is the case then the vapour pressure of it is lower than the atmospheric and hence the NPSHA calculation shall be: NPSHA = (atm. Press. - vapour Press.)X 10 / S.G + Min. Submerge say...

    Best location of Anti-Surge Valve

Dear pmover, Thanks for your advice, but throttling through the anti surge valve has a cooling effect. shouldn't be considered? Regards

One or Two Anti Surge Valves for Two stage Compressor?

Thanks pmover the two compressors are in series and no side streams and it is for pipeline application. Regards

One or Two Anti Surge Valves for Two stage Compressor?

Hi all, I have a question about the number of Anti Surge valves for Multi stage Compressor (in one casing or in separate casings but driven by one driver) What is optimum in operation, one common Anti Surge valve or multi Valves (one for each stage) My feelings is that one for each would be...

    Best location of Anti-Surge Valve

Hi All, what is the best practice in Anti Suge Valve location in Centrifugal Compressor package? I had seen some applications where the Anti Surge valve is upstream the Dischage cooler, while my Company common practice is downstream the Dischage Cooler. Do you think there is any advantage for...
