Dear Abaqus useres,
In my analysis I use B31OS finite elements integrated before analysis. My profile in Abaqus/CAE is defined by I profile option.
Where can I read the integrated properties of my cross section (total area, moments of intertia, torsional properties etc.)?
Thank you for help.
Dear Ansys users,
I would like to read bending moments from my beam189 elements. In Ansys WB it is easy to plot bending moment diagram as colored maps with legend. It is very inaccurate.
How can I obtain exact results in node / integration point of my beam189 element?
I tried to use User...
Thank you,
Did you mean ESEL command? (according to "elements" word).
I would ask about one more thing.
I don't exactly get formulation from APDL Help: "Item - Label identifying data, see Table 134: ESEL - Valid Item and Component Labels. Some items also require a component label. If Item =...
Hello,
I would like to ask about Ansys Mechanical Functions.
Is it possible to hide regions of my structure, where stress concentration (for shell elements) and bending moment concentration (for beam elements) are the highest?
Let's say that I would like to hide some finite elements with the...
You right. I got some test results for 16Mo3 at elevated temperatures and it has higher yield stress, especially at 20ºC. At this temperature the differences are the biggest. Anyway, I rather use code yield strength for 16Mo3 instead of real stress-strain data due to safety regulations.
Can You...
Hello,
Thank You very much for the answer.
First of all, the material I need to use is definitely 16Mo3. This is not typical structural steel.
Please take a look into EN 1993-1-2, 1.1.2 (8). You can find there information: "The methods given are applicable to any steel grade for which...
Thanks for the answer.
.stp format seems to be better.
The point is that I need to export from SolidWorks shell model with lines at the same position as edges of shell surfaces. Then I want to import this geometry to Design Modeller (Ansys Workbench). Unfortunately there are no lines all the...
Hello,
I have got a question about yield strength of structural steel at elevated temperatures according to EN 1993-1-2 and EN 10028-2.
1/ According to EN 1993-1-2, reduction factors for yield strength are very striking. In a different publications we can find informations that at 50°C, yield...
Hello, Sorry for incorrect topic of this thread.
I agree with you. Let's talk about technical problems in Ansys WB.
Correct me if I'm wrong. In WB I can define isotopic hardening in two ways:
1/ by "Bilinear Isotropic Hardening" option. In this case I use tangent modulus instead of strain...
Hello,
According to Abaqus, it is well-known that he needs true stress - true strain input data in the material module.
In this case user have to convert engineering values for true stress - true strain values manually.
What type of data should I use in Ansys Workbench - engineering...
Hello,
I work in Ansys Workbench and got some problem.
What tool should I use to tie degrees of freedom of beams and shells?
Manual Mesh Connection in case of two shells works fine, but when I want to tie beam elements and shell elements it's impossible to use Manual Mesh Connection option...
Hello,
I decided to perform simplified analysis without CFD analysis.
I would like to ask about element type and modeling in WB.
I was going to model my structure using only surfaces (for shell element purposes), but I need to take into account thermal gradients (different temperatures on both...
